Hello and greetings to all! I'm from the grand, wordly city of Big Spring!!!! lol
Anyways, I work as an LVN and am currently working on getting my RN and am so very interested in becoming certified in homeopathic/ holistic medicine one day. I was adopted by a wonderful hispanic woman who taught me to see beyond that which is seen. This included several trips to see a curandera over the years instead of seeking out traditional medicine. How ironic that I'm a nurse now working in a predominantly scientific realm, lol. So..this me, hope it's a proper intro to you all. Hope to hear from you guys soon. Blessings.. |

Hi there Celestial, and welcome! Or merry meet, as we like to say. I am Naddya, and I am considered to be the group's leader. It was also me in the picture in the Odessa American, if you happened to see that article. I don't claim to be certifiable in herbology, though I do study it myself as well. I have Fibromyalgia, and if you know what that is you know there is not much conventional medicine can do for me. Therefore I supplement what I get from my doctor with what I can do on my own. In fact, I just finished making an Arnica Liniment which is good for aches and pains, sprains and strains. Glad to see you here. Have you joined up with our yahoo group yet? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wayofthelady ? Do you know anything about Santaria? I have a couple books about it. _________________ Speak little, listen much. |

Well dear, I've studied quite a bit on the realm of Santeria but am nowhere close to being a pro. I do know that Santeria which is a branch off of Haitian voodoo, is aligned with Catholic symbology. I found it to be so interesting that before the Catholic church had come into play the Haitians had a God/Goddess for every saint represented by the Catholic church. Every God/Goddess in Santeria or voodoo co-incides with colors and spiritual traits of each saint. Crazy huh? However, the church did'nt realize that if anything, the Haitians weren't reforming to Catholocism as much as they were entering the church to pay respect to the spirits they honored and recognized in the saints seen around the church. Sorry....I'm longwinded lol _________________ It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change ~ Charles Darwin |
